A polled (hornless) variety was bred in the US in the 1900s. first arrived in New Zealand in 1868. Polled were imported from the US in 1929. (9% of NZ in 2009) and -Angus crosses (a further 9% in 2009) are the second most popular beef breed in New Zealand (after Angus). Works Cited.
